"Since 2003, I have volunteered with April Showers in San Leandro, CA, a donation-funded day program for homeless citizens. We meet on the first, third and fifth Sunday of the month at the Boys & Girls Club. We offer clothing, showers, hot food, bag lunches, toiletries and help referrals. Our organization is working with the city to eventually establish a navigation center and emergency shelter."
