Stay Healthy and Safe From COVID-19
In the promotional product industry and in retail, we are seeing a stock issue for hand sanitizer as people begin to prepare themselves for any illnesses that may come their way. Don't worry, hand sanitizer isn't the only way to keep hands clean during this time!
In fact, it comes second to hand soap on the list of recommended care from the CDC. Being germ-free is more important than ever right now and understanding the ways for everyone to do their part in staying clean and aware is essential to staying healthy.
Wash Your Hands
Washing your hands with hand soap and water is the preferred method for keeping your hands germ-free and has proven to work better than hand sanitizer. The CDC recommends washing your hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds.
Our favorite and fun way to guarantee 20 seconds is singing Happy Birthday to yourself two times! It's also important to avoid touching your mouth, eyes and nose with unwashed hands and always being aware of what you touch especially in public spaces.
Stay Home If You Feel Sick
If you feel sick, stay home to avoid running the risk of getting your co-workers, family or friends sick. Many companies are allowing their employees to work from home to avoid any sickness spreading through their office or to their clients!
Find what works best for you and be open with your employer if you are feeling under the weather. It's important to not be careless during a time like this.
Be aware of your surroundings and the people around you, if you see someone that looks like they have symptoms of being sick, keep your distance and your hands to yourself.
Clean and Disinfect
Keeping your belongs and your home clean should be a top priority and should stay top of mind. Areas that are touched and used frequently should be cleaned daily to avoid the spread of germs. Disinfecting your car, kitchen table, bathrooms and kitchen should be an everyday occurrence to avoid any illnesses.
Quick Tip: if disinfectant is sold out at a store near you, you can dilute household bleach or use alcohol solutions that have at least 70% alcohol.
Stay up to Date and Alert
Stay up to date on the risks of COVID-19 and understand the symptoms. It's important to be aware of your surroundings and know the symptoms of COVID-19.
